Anorexic Model Dead – Plus Size Model Asks America: “Who is to Blame?”

Plus Size Model Nancy Hayssen who shocked the modeling world posing nude at 169 pounds with skin-and-bones anorexic model now speaking out about the dangerous of anorexia and asking America ‘What do YOU think about the impossible Hollywood image of beauty?’

In 2007, a Plus Size Model posed nude, shocking the world weighing 169 pounds in the controversial anti-anorexia billboard ad featured in Times Square, NYC – alongside an anorexic model weighing barely 59 pounds.
Now, that anorexic model is dead at 28 years old.
Isabelle Caro was the face of the world-famous Nolita campaign, a billboard ad designed to show dieting teenagers the horrific effects of anorexia on the body. The French model died after battling the eating disorder for almost 15 years.
Nancy Hayssen, 33, Plus Size Model and Author of Sexy at Any Size! is sending the message of empowering women to look and feel sexy no matter weight or size – despite Hollywood’s impossible ideals of beauty.
Nancy is now speaking out about the root of the problem…the three Hollywood lies we’ve been told that destroy the way women feel about themselves:
1. No matter how much you weigh, you’re still too fat
2. No matter how skinny you are, you’ll never be skinny enough
3. No matter what you look like, you’ll never be good enough
Nancy says, “I feel sexy and confident of my voluptuous body. I believe ‘Sexy is a State of Mind.’”
In the last 20 years, fashion runway models have gone from a size 8 to a size 0. Within the same time period, the average American woman has gone from a size 10 to a size 14.
How many more young girls have to die to fit Hollywood’s image? How many more women will have their self-esteem ruined because they can’t fit this dangerous ideal? How many more young girls will starve themselves creating lifelong health issues?
Over 8 million people in this country struggle with anorexia, bulimia or have eating disorders. “The fashion industry and Hollywood have spread the myth that to be “Thin Is In.”
Is the message Hollywood really sending to women that: “You need to starve yourself to look sexy and beautiful…starve yourself literally to death?”
